I love the opening. :) Lots of good picks all around. “Jaws” is one of my all time favorite movies out of any list. If I had to pick a movie(s) that scared the daylights out of me when I was little, I would say it’s anything with “killer spiders taking over the world.

One of the movies I’ve found that was really creepy in recent years (and actually made me jump when I first saw it) was “Signs”. The pacing and tension build very nicely throughout the film.

One thing I want to say about “Paranormal Activity”… Personally, I wouldn’t believe all of the hype. I will grant that there are a couple moments in the movie that make you go “What the (blank)?!” But overall, I didn’t ever feel invested in the characters enough to really care what happens to them (especially the boyfriend,) and I didn’t think the ending was enough of a payoff, if at all. Which may just be inherit to the “found footage” movies. Perhaps there isn’t a way to give them good endings. “Cloverfield”, and “Blair Witch” I think, both suffer from the same problem. They have this great concept but once they get to the end, they don’t know what to do with it.

Lastly, the original “Halloween”: Just the opening with the slowly transforming pumpkin is terrifying in and of itself!

Great Show Tom. As I listened I thought of some movies that got to me as a kid that I thought I’d share:

    - Something Wicked This Way Comes: Even today, when I see a lightening rod, I think of that movie.
    - Amityville Horror – When the mother goes over to close the window and sees the eyes in the darkness… Ieeee
    - Children of the Corn – The line “Malichi, He wants you too Malichi”. haunts me to this day.

Now I’m officially prepared for Halloween.

Thanks again for the great shows!
