Episode 67 – Character Development with Barb Jacobs & Chip Skelton

It’s time to talk Character with the two Tall Tale Features members who are doing epic graphic novel stories; Barb Jacobs of the lavishly complex and beautiful “Xylia,” and Chip Skelton of the mysterious and moving “Broken.” We talk about how to create a powerful and interesting main character, how the development process changes over time with story, and when design and writing meet up.  Great stuff for all of you out there working in long-form storytelling.

Hey Tom and gang. Love the show. Haven’t gotten through everything, but I’m working on it.

Something I wanted to ask: am I the only one who thinks that Barb sounds exactly like Marcia Wallace, who is most famous for doing the voice of Mrs. Krabappel from the Simpsons? Just wondering.

Thank you for consistently introducing me to some great comics! This was a very fun show, barking dog and all.

Barb sounds like Marcia Wallace? HA! (in Krabappel voice, of course).
