First, let me say that I do not know Chris Eliopoulos. Never met the guy. Hell, I don’t know that we’ve ever crossed paths. But let me say this: This guy is good. I mean real good. His strip “Misery Loves Sherman” is so well executed and written that it causes me pain. I rarely ever say this about a strip, and this may not even be what Chris is shooting for, but Misery Loves Sherman should be in hundreds of newspapers.

The strip centers around Sherman, a snarky little kid who has to suffer thru the trials of being a kid. All of this would be typically unbearable and boring if it weren’t for his two roommates: Zort and Benny. Did I mention they’re aliens? I’m pretty sure I did.

I sure hope you take the time to check out this strip. It’s one of my new favorites.

You and I were just talking about this strip the other day, Wit, and I totally agree with you — the strip is just fantastic.

Chris does (or has done) lettering for Marvel. This strip has inspired me to work even harder on my printing.

Peeps, you need to read this thing — it’s great. Might I add, it’s also very reminiscent of Calvin.

I TOTALLY agree with you, MLS may be one of the gold standard strips in years to come!

You guys should check out Chris’ book collection from IDW: Desperate Times. It was his last foray into strips.
BTW, I have said the same about both of your strips, to whoever would listen.
This is a great time to be a fan of cartooning.

Good stuff Wit. This guys art style reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. Very Bill Waterson-esque.

Hey Bob, what’s up? Glad to see you out here! That’s the first thing I thought when I saw his work. Very good line work. And for the record, all the lettering is by hand…that ain’t no electronic font.
