Over the years, I’ve been asked “what is Pinkerton about?” It’s a very good question. I really don’t know. Sometimes it’s a statement of what’s going on in the world, whether it be pop culture, politics, or just plain old stupid people. Sometimes it’s a little preachy and long winded. Sometimes it even takes a tug at your heart strings. But most times, it’s about four furry animals sitting around a bar in the middle of the woods getting drunk. Coming from an Eastern Pennsylvania upbringing, if that’s not slice of life, I sure as hell don’t know what is.
Pinkerton began in July of 2007 after my previous attempt at comic greatness (44 Union Avenue) sputtered and died. It’s been a labor of love ever since. It’s currently syndicated online by U-Click’s GoComics and published by Th3rd World Studios…both of whom are wise beyond belief and chock full of handsome men and drop-dead gorgeous women. Pinkerton is published Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
About the Park Ranger
Mike Witmer hails from scenic Lancaster County, Pennsylvania: Home of the Amish (no he’s not one) and criminally insane (jury is out). He spends his days juggling his free time between his children, his gorgeous woman, his incredibly famous rock bands (plural), and his whacky comic strip. It’s rumored that he enjoys movies, good food, beer, and naps.
